Seems like a good rule

H.R. 1503 would "require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution."
Eligibility bill hits Congress Almost certainly this is motivated by nonsense-charges that Obama is foreign born. Nevertheless, this an eminently reasonable request of people seeking to be president of the United States. It is easy to imagine a near future where a popular presidential candidate emerges from a south-western state with illegal (nor simply non-citizen) immigrant parents and an ambiguous birth citizenship. Once elected it could cause a political crisis to remove such a person from office. Far better to head the problem off before the person has wrapped themselves with the power of the office of the president.
