Tiananmen Square anniversary
In a reminder that one of the world's nastiest and evil regimes remains in power, today is the 18th anniversary of the massacre in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, China.
China, home to about 1.3 billion people, is rated Not Free by Freedom House for a lack of democracy, rampant corruption, lack free press (of 168 ranked countries only Burma, Cuba, Eritrea, Turkmenistan, and North Korea were worse), lack of freedom of worship, and among other things, the jailing of dissidents.
May one day the people of China be free. Thanks to Q and O for the reminder.
